A selection of photos from the 2014 O-hanami Festival. We enjoyed a wonderful sunny spring day. The cherry blossoms were still close to their peak bloom. There was a steady flow of visitors throughout the day. Taken at Charles Wood Japanese Garden of Mobile.
2014: Our student delegates bagged groceries at a local store in Fairhope, AL for donations to help with their airfare costs. Everyone wore either a yukata, kimono, or happi coat. They greeted customers at the door with a bow and "Irasshaimase!". They also bowed to each customer as they left the cash register and said, "Arigatou gozaimashita!" The customers were very interested and asked them about the trip to Ichihara and about MISCA. They were also very generous; we raised a very nice sum of money for our first try.

Meetings are held in the Asian Culture Center at the Mobile

Japanese Gardens.

January: Shinnen Kai (New Year celebration)

April: O-hanami Party (Cherry Blossom Festival)

July/August: Summer cultural exchange

November: Mobile International Festival
